New Weapons: Video Preview

Hi-Rez has released a new video talking about phase I of patch 1.3. They mainly go into depth on the new weapons for the classes but also there are glimpses of the two new maps near the end. :o

Mpire-Wins-Obelisk

Mpire Won Obelisk!

Mpire won Obelisk even though they lost their forge not long ago. This was due to them pulling the forge out of the factory before JL took it. Mpire won the same prizes as JL had in the past, and those prizes are rumored not to be changed until phase lll of patch 1.3.

Seinken, the leader of Legendary said;

We won the map due to inactivity from EVERYONE  — if ava were to continue this way I would suggest to HiRez to simply to take down Obelisk.. no one played it apart from like 2 SF’s of ours, and most of the time only 1.

Hopefully a zone-win like this won’t occur again. It was boring for the most part. Anyway, here is a video of HexNation playing around with ten vindicators while locking down a hex from Mpire which didn’t affect them at all.

Sandstorm Phase l On Test Server

Sandstorm Phase l has been released on the test server, but is only available till the end of this Sunday. If you can’t connect to the sever i would check out the GATestSvrStatus on Twitter otherwise it could be a problem associated with your computer.

General Notes

  • For testing purposes, Version 1.3 is being released to the Public Test Server in phases. Version 1.3(A) represents the first phase of a multi-phase set of feature upgrades.  Once we are comfortable with each phase of functionality, we will release the next phase to the Public Test Server.
  • The sequencing and timing of deployment to the Live servers will be dictated by what is found in Public Test Server testing.
  • In future phases, we will be introducing Alliance vs Alliance changes, Open PvE Zones, a 64-person PvP Warzone and much more, coming to the Public Test Server soon. For a discussion of the currently planned development roadmap and the reasoning for the phased implementation, visit here.

Overlord OVER!!

JL dropped the forge on Wednesday. It started out with very few attacks from agencies and there were talks of doing a scrim of Protocol A team vs Protocol B team on the forge but that idea was dropped when every Overlord agency attacked JL at the same time, however, ironically, some of these strike forces were filled out by JL members that weren’t on any teams and were attacking their own agency for the lulz. As the attacks kept coming (around 6 at a time) JL was keeping pace holding all the defence hexes near the base although some of the hexes in the southern region of the map were ninja’d from Ninja. All hexes were being successfully defended.  In one of these defenses against Cerberus, however, Ninja ended up losing their only Golden Vandal to the beam at Power in a defense facility (the first and only golden vandal destroyed).

The map then ended with JL holding most of their hexes and all of the hexes around their forge. The next day, it started out with everyone attacking JL again, but JL still held every hex around the base allowing nobody to nuke it. As the forge came closer to completion Protocol kicked Ninja and Beast from the alliance, therefor striking their names off of the zone win page exactly one tick to the forge being built. The reasoning behind this was that the leadership of the two clans were deciding on joining ISBAD after Overlord was over.

With no 100% factory bonus hex on the map JL placed the Forge on a base hex for a better defensible position which is why it took two days instead of one like forge on Warlord.

The reward for winning the zone were the same as with the other two wins (Citadel and Warlord). Helms were passed to the active players of Beast and Ninja but not their leaders. With so many extra helms, Vexturia and Protocol sold them to randoms along with a few Black Lance Vandals.
